We are looking for an experienced, high quality teacher to work with a US student at his family home in Long Island and as the family travels globally.
The boy is 11 years old. He has been to several schools in various countries, with mixed outcomes. The intention is to follow a bespoke home school path, with the possibility of him going to school in the future, whereupon the role will switch to one of supporting him as required there.
The teacher will be required to integrate with the family staff team, including educators.
The role is to start as soon as practically possible.
STUDENT
The student is an 11 year old boy.
He has attended schools in the USA, Switzerland and the UK but hasn’t yet found a school that suits his learning needs.
He has been homeschooled since November with a group of tutors supporting this under the leadership of the homeschool headteacher. As well as the academic objectives, a principal focus has been to establish a healthy trust based relationship between the student and his teachers. This has been successful, with a strong rapport and common purpose being developed. The intention is that this foundation is built upon going forward from here with the new teacher.
The current plan is for the student to move to a school based education, at which point the teacher would transition into a support role, after school or possibly in the classroom.
